And now we apparently know why.

A New Israel Fund officer told a reporter that the new BDS guidelines does not exclude NIF from marching and the organization looked forward to marching in the parade in May, Arutz 7 reported.

If the New Israel Fund is permitted to march, there is every reason to believe that Partners for a Progressive Israel will march as well.

The newly articulated guidelines do no more than what the unstated rules did before. For the pro-Israel group, anyone prepared to support those who do, or who themselves use economic warfare against Jews. are supporters of anti-Israel boycotts, whether the support is for a boycott of all of Israel or only of Jews living in Judea and Samaria.

For those who make the parade eligibility determination, groups like the New Israel Fund and even the Partners for Progressive Israel, which consistently partner with or fund groups that promote Israel boycotts against Israeli companies located beyond the Apartheidesque Green Line, are kosher.

For the coalition seeking to bar anyone supporting economic harm against Jews, they believe it only makes sense to march with those whose love for Israel means they will fight for it, not against it.

So about those new “no BDS” guidelines? Not so much.
