IDF soldiers identified an individual crossing into Lebanese territory from Israel through the security fence on Thursday, according to a report published by the Hebrew-language 0404 military website.

According to the report, the identification of the crossing came only after the individual touched the security fence, apparently setting off alarms. Israeli military forces were deployed to the exit point at which the crossing took place and set out to search the area.

It was subsequently discovered the man is a member of a family of former Southern Lebanese Army (SLA) soldiers. He was quickly captured in Lebanon after surrendering himself to soldiers from the Lebanese Army.

The Israel Defense Force has referred the matter to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
