The University of Haifa is launching a joint campus with the largest university in Shanghai — the East China Normal University.

The project is to become part of the Zizhu International Education Park, and will include offices, advanced laboratories, computer classrooms and seminar rooms.

University of Haifa professors will have access to the campus research facilities and to grants from the Chinese university; when in China, the Israeli lecturers will receive their salaries from the Chinese university.

Courses at the campuses will focus on interdisciplinary studies in biomedicine, neuroscience and/or environmental sciences.
