Officials in the Justice Ministry began deliberations Wednesday to decide which four candidates will fill vacancies on the bench of Israel’s Supreme Court.

The committee to make that pivotal decision is led by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, and is comprised of a group of judges from the Supreme Court, as well as several attorneys.

Among the lawyers must be, by law, at least one female, one attorney from the Arab sector and one lawyer from the Mizrahi population.
