Israeli women who complete National Service after high school will now be eligible to receive the same financial maternity benefits as their female military counterparts.

The Knesset Labor and Social Affairs Committee approved an agreement Monday allowing the new benefit.

The deal signed between the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) and the Authority for National Service, calls for those who complete National Service to receive the same fiscal benefits following the birth of a child, as female soldiers who complete their military service.
