Israel’s Foreign Ministry appointments committee has announced the appointments of four new envoys. The announcement was made April 5, with the appointments now headed to the cabinet for final approval — usually a procedural formality only.

The new envoy to Australia will be Mark Sofer, currently serving as deputy director-general for Asia and the Pacific.

The new envoy to Germany will be Jeremy Issacharoff, presently the vice director-general of the foreign ministry.

The new envoy to Japan will be Yaffa Ben-Ari, currently deputy director-general for economic affairs.

The Consul General to Shanghai will be Eyal Propper, who currently serves as the deputy head of the foreign ministry’s strategic affairs division.
