An unidentified man, 64, was stabbed while sunning himself on the beach at the Dead Sea early in the day on Sunday.

The man was treated at the scene by medics from the Magen David Adom emergency medical service. He was then evacuated in serious condition to Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva.

He is currently listed in good condition.

Israel Police say the stabbing was “terror related.” A search is under way for the attacker, who managed to escape.

The Dead Sea is located close to the border with Jordan, although there are no official crossing points located in the area.
