Islam Albid - The first person who helped save the Mark family after the terror attack.

After Jihadi terrorists opened fire on the vehicle of Miki Mark and his family on Friday near Otniel on July 1, 2016, the first people on the scene were an Arab couple from the village of Al-Farar, Islam Albid and his wife, a nurse.

Seeing the overturned car, they immediately stopped and managed to get a door open and pull the trapped and wounded children out of the car.

The couple got the wounded children into their car, tried to calm them down (in perfect Hebrew) and called for a Red Crescent ambulance.

Albid told Israel TV that he did it “for humanistic reasons and of course for Allah.”

A few minutes after that, an Arab doctor, Dr. Ali Abu Shruch, a kidney surgeon from the village of Dahariya in the southern Hebron Hills, drove by with his brother and his brother’s wife. They were on their way to pray in Jerusalem.

In an interview on Israeli TV (see video below), the doctor described how he assessed the situation, and freed the mother, Chava Marks, who was being suffocated by the seat belt.

At that point a Red Crescent ambulance and an IDF army jeep arrived. A MDA ambulance arrived a few minutes after that.

It was then, when the doctor checked the father, Miki Mark, that he realized this wasn’t an accident, but a terror attack and they had been shot, and Miki was dead.

During the interview, Dr. Abu Shruch emphasized that he wasn’t a hero. He has an obligation to treat everyone and as a doctor he doesn’t get involved in politics, he was doing his job.

He said his friends have all blessed him for his honorable actions.

The doctor passed a message along to the family saying, “I know the damage to the family is hard, but I want them to know I did all that I could to help them.”

After the funeral, members of the Mark family pointed out that the first people on the scene trying to help save them were Arabs, and one must not think all Arabs are terrorists.

There is hope after all.

  1. This article should be verified for facts. If everything is true, it is a rare bright spot that allows the hope for a resolution of the crises in our life span.
Still these Arabs are not really heros. They did not risk their lives to save the wounded. But still, they behaved as normal human beings under the circomstanses. We should thank them heartily.

  2. Arab isn't the issue, it's whether one is an orthodox or heterodox Muslim. No orthodox Muslim should be allowed anywhere near a civilized country. Heterodox Muslims reject the predominence of evil in Islam & embrace only the tolerant parts, all of which have been abrogated according to Orthodox Islam.

  3. those few arabs who tried to save jews should quietly have a cash reward (save $50,000 each arab) and a medal of honor and….a record of what they did should be listed on Israeli govt computer so that those arabs should be given special consideration and help should they ever need it because they helped jews!!!

  4. Everybody is going crazy over an Arab that shows some human compassion. It shows how little anyone expects from the cruel and sadistic Arabs. In Jewish culture anyone acting anything but compassionate is ostracized instantly, and ends up being tormented by the confused legal, media and security system. Co-existence based on one compassionate Arab is not going to make the grade.

  5. you don't hear about the arab terrorist at all…and we use the word terrorist because we don't want to say ARAB killer…or arabs fired on jews or palestinians fired on jews…this way we say a new kind of rare (only two or three of them in the world is the lie the news talks about….)when in reality its 99% of the palestinians and 90% of the rest of the arabs ARE would be killers….but we can't say that!!! but when they talk about us they say JEWS are bad (all of us) kill the JEWS(all of us).
now everyone should be hunting down the arabs who fired at the jews….grab 500 arabs and test them for gunpowder on their hands bodies and clothes!!! (don't advertize what you are doing, but just do it) punish the entire town till they turn in the would be killers!!! i laugh when i read that there is jewish charity collecting money to go into arab town and steal out (rescue) jewish girls and their children being kept as abused prisoners of arabs they foolishly married arabs and now they are paying for it! why doesn't Israel make it ilegal for arab to marry a jew punishable by five years solitary prison (solitary means no phone no computer no visitors no cell mate NEVER out of cell even for one minute…)…and IDF goes in and takes out girl and children…anyone resisting goes to solitary confinement prison for five years!!!

  6. The Arabs performed a mitzvah. Shame there are so few that will help Jews, among the many millionsof Arabs. How short the Avenue of the Righteous in Yad Vashem compared to the population of Europe, all who were "not Nazis." We must take care of ourselves, since the undercurrent of anti-Semitism is there throughout the world.

  7. Not killing people and assisting them is no heroic act. It’s basic human decency.

Being all surprised when Arabs don’t slaughter and actually help people, even Jews, shows that the default expectation we have of them is to slaughter.

    Which is kind of sad.

  8. as usual. for you guys, to simply say thank you is a "mortal sin!" PLEASE GET IT IN YOUR HEADS; evil is a choice it is not in the genes!or the etnicity or the religion! if it were, then all we do in life is eat sleep and go to the bathroom! why learn if its all ordained? We are suppose to plant the good seeds! all you do is plant your fears and prejudices!

  9. There is al Sisi of Egypt, courageousely announcing that Islam needs reformation. There must be others. He wouldn't speak so openly if he weren't aware many (secretly) want this to happen. Much too dangerous to come forward. And then, we must guard fiercely trolls exploit this ernest need for any sort of healing. At our peril to minimize the danger.

  10. It is not our beliefs that make us what we are- it is our actions.
Feeling disappointment about the few who help, being it in the holocaust or today in Israel is understandable but let's not forget the personal courage that it took to help others and to risk being ostracized or much much worse.
Better to be grateful to those who do help, than bewail that fact that we don't all help others.

  11. Why? Because they did something that anyone with a grain of humanity should have done in the first place? Just because they are Muslims, does not mean that they did anything that a Jew, Christian, or atheist woudn't do in the same situation. People do good deeds all the time, just because their moral compass tells them to. That's the way it should be, and they will be richly rewarded in the World to Come.

  12. Blessings and good wishes to those who helped …the fact is that evil is cultivated by man, by his being weak and following the evil inclination instead of the good – the promise of the dark is more powerful that that of the light and those who destroy must be destroyed and those who are good will be saved…the time is coming – good will always win over bad and humanity will always conquer evel…but it will also always have to deal with it.

  13. Because such situations (of Arabs being on hand when Jews are injured) are rare doesnt mean that other Arabs wouldn't do the same thing- like the Arab in Hevron who a few months ago rescued some yeshiva students who took a wrong turn and entered the Arab part of the city. Who knows how many more are out there.

  14. Ora Cooper You are a good dhimmi. You live in LA and I live in Israel so shut your big mouth. You are a pathetic naive person. Better for you to talk about the Kardashian family it is more your world…

  15. Do not think "that all Arabs are terrorists" but unfortuneately all terrorists ARE Arabs.as seen that first responders to the murder were Arabs trying to help. But although not all Arabs are terrorists, all terrorists are Arabs.

  16. The terrorist that killed Itshak Rabin is claiming to be an orthodox Jew ! and quiet a few Arabs are brave enough to help Israelis ! a Jeep full of soldiers made the wrong turn last week and was saved by arabs!

  17. There are more out there! we dont make it cool to help !but we sure talk about the bad seed a lot! so when you expect the worst in people ?you'll get it ! the brainless are happy to oblige (no matter what religion they belong to)..

  18. No one thinks that ALL Arabs are terrorists. But the overwhelming majority supports terror against Jews. Arabs like these should not give you the impression that you can now take a stroll through Schem. They are such a small minority that they almost don't exist statistically. Of course, they deserve credit for their honorable deeds. But they really don't represent much of the population.

  19. Arabs are victims of Jihad terrorists also. 90% have fled terrorist occupied BeisLechem, losing their homes and lives. Where have the HAMAS occupiers of Gaza come from? How many are foreign mercenary soldiers? Remember Arafat was an Egyptian.
