United Nations Special Envoy Nickolay Mladenov has condemned the rocket attacks fired from Gaza at Israel, and called for both sides to ‘calm’ the situation, citing bloodshed on “both” sides.

“I condemn the continuing launching of rockets from Gaza,” Mladenov wrote in a tweet. “Enough Palestinian and Israeli lives have been lost, people injured, houses damaged and destroyed!

“It is time to de-escalate and return to the understandings of the past few months before it is too late.”
