The IDF Southern Division Gaza Division’s Technology Department – it’s “Geek Squad” – has presented the heads of Gaza Belt Jewish communities with two possible technological models that can be used to destroy Molotov terror kites.

In recent days, at least 20 of the kites have been intercepted, according to a report posted on the Rotter.net website. “The phenomenon will not be with us for long,” the community leaders were told by the IDF technologists, according to a tweet by Hebrew-language Ynet reporter Matan Tzuri.

Hundred of acres of Israeli farmland and forest have been burned down in the past few weeks by the Gazans, forcing some of the farmers to harvest their wheat early to rescue the crop from eco-terrorism attacks.

The IDF has warned security personnel in Gaza border communities to inform local residents not to approach or touch any of the kites that may land in the area, due to concerns that Hamas may have attached bombs to the kites.

Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan (Likud) said in a radio interview this week that the IDF has received new open fire instructions; Gazans flying Molotov terror kites will be treated as terrorists in every way, authorizing the IDF to eliminate the kite flyers, including by drone-based targeted assassination.
