Hamas has been working on establishing its cyber attack capabilities for some time, with the group operating from Gaza in attempts to attack Israeli cyberspace. Its operations and attempts were discovered and thwarted, including a failed attempt in recent days, the Shin Bet said in a statement.

IDF fighter jets attacked a building from which the Hamas cyber network has been operating, following these activities.

“Our ability to thwart these attempts, and Israel’s cyber defense leads to the repeated failure of the attempts of the Hamas terrorist organization when they carry out their activities in cyberspace,” a senior Shin Bet official said.
