The London municipality on Wednesday ordered the removal of illegal bus stop ads stops in Westminster, Waterloo and Bloomsbury proclaiming “Israel is a racist endeavour” (that’s “Israel is a racist endeavor” to us Yanks).
The signs were plastered illegally, most likely by a group calling itself LDNPalestineAction, which tweeted their images with a considerable measure of glee. Police have launched an investigation.
The statement is a response to this week’s vote by the Labour Party to adopt the full International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of what constitutes anti-Semitism, which includes the definition of anti-Semitism as “Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.”
