
The IDF Aerial Array intercepted a Houthi ballistic missile attack Sunday morning shortly before 11 am, while tens of thousands of children were in school.
A large chunk belonging to a broken Houthi missile landed in the southern Hebron Hills area.
People living in Jerusalem and its surrounds, Gush Etzion and eastern areas of Judea all the way to the Dead Sea, and as far south as the Negev city of Arad had enough time to calmly reach their safe spaces – including thousands of school children led by their teachers to shelters within their schools.
The Home Front Command incoming rocket warning app alerted Israelis at least three minutes prior to the wail of the local Red Alert sirens, which provided an additional 90 seconds in which to reach a safe space.
Sunday morning’s attack was the third such missile fired at Israel by the Iranian proxy in Yemen over the past four days.
Since the IDF resumed its offensive in Gaza (March 18), the Houthis have launched 39 hypersonic ballistic missiles and at least 10 suicide drones at the Jewish State. Several missiles have fallen short, including at least two that misfired and blew up in Yemen, two that landed in Saudi Arabia and one that landed in Jordan.
Only one missile evaded IDF aerial defenses and landed on the outskirts of Ben Gurion International Airport. Six people were hurt in that attack, but there were no deaths.
