Otzma Yehudi party chair and Knesset member Attorney Itamar Ben Gvir is calling for an investigation by Israel Police into an attack against him by two Arab security guards. Ben Gvir pointed a gun at them during the confrontation, which took place in an underground parking lot at the Tel Aviv exhibition grounds, where the MK had arrived for a celebration.

The MK said at the time that he pulled out his weapon because he felt threatened by the guards. He now is demanding that police investigate the incident as soon as possible, according to a report by the Hebrew-language 0404 military news outlet.

The two fled the scene following the incident by police located them and they were both detained for questioning, according to Hamodia. According to the report, when Ben Gvir parked his car, the two guards “started cursing, I answered they should be quiet and then they came towards me intimidatingly while threatening, ‘We will kill you, we will beat you.’ At this point I felt threatened and pulled out a weapon, I aimed down, it calmed them down for a bit.

“I saw in front of me two Arabs who were supposed to be security guards, with hatred in their eyes who cursed and threatened to hit me and murder me,” Ben Gvir said, noting that over the past six months he has received dozens of threats on social media and in personal messages, plus attempted assaults that have been investigated by police.

The two security guards this week filed a complaint at the Neve Yaakov police station against the MK.

“I wish, and expect, that the Israel Police will open an investigation and demand that it do so as soon as possible,” Ben Gvir was quoted as saying.

“I was in danger of death and as the days go by, more and more details become clear about the thugs – such as one of them supporting Hamas,” he said.

“I demand the police open an investigation to the full extent of the law,” he added.

According to Israeli Channel 2 News reporter Moshe Nussbaum, while they were filing, the police discovered that one of the Arab guards served two terms in jail after particpating in a riot where bottles and stones were thrown at police.
