The Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic voting bloc is seen as a significant power base for Israel’s politicians.

The decision was seen as a blow to the Otzma Yehudit party.

The heads of Otzma Yehudit called on the Chabad rabbis in a letter, asking them to make a commitment not to agree to sit in a government that negotiates on autonomy (with the Palestinian Authority), including the “Bennet Plan.”
