Four American soldiers were among 16 fighters killed in a suicide bombing carried out in Syria on Wednesday by the Islamic State terrorist organization.

An ISIS suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest attacked a military patrol by the U.S.-led coalition forces in the northern Syrian city of Manbij.

According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, there were also Americans among at least a dozen wounded as well.

The United States has already removed some military equipment from its installations in Syria in the beginning stages of the draw-down of forces ordered last month by U.S. President Donald Trump.
