Mortar shell with phosphorus fired from Gaza, found near Kerem Shalom crossing (21 August 2011)

Gaza terrorists aimed mortar fire at Jewish civilian communities in southern Israel on Wednesday night, triggering the Red Alert incoming rocket siren in open areas along the southern border.

Both mortar shells exploded in open fields in Israel after clearing the border from Gaza, the IDF spokesperson confirmed.

No one was physically injured and no property damage was reported. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
