A home in the Ashkelon Regional Council District sustained minor damage on Wednesday afternoon during a rocket attack from Gaza.

The rocket exploded near the home upon impact, shooting out shrapnel and causing minor damage to the house, located in one of the communities in the district, according to Chen Greenberg, a spokesperson for the Ashkelon Regional Council.

A second rocket damaged a greenhouse in a community that was also located in the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council District, Greenberg said, but added that no one was physically injured in the attack.

At least three rockets were fired from the enclave at southern Israel, according to a statement by the IDF.

One of the rockets landed in an “open area” near the community of Kibbutz Yad Mordechai. No one was physically hurt and no property damage was reported.

The rocket fire came in an attack launched by Gaza terrorists at civilian Israeli communities living along the border, a followup to attacks that were fired on Tuesday night, and attempted attacks that were launched in the wee hours of Wednesday morning that failed to make it past the border.

The Red Alert rocket siren warning residents of the incoming attack sounded 15 seconds before the impact in two nearby Jewish communities along the Gaza border, Yad Mordechai and Netiv Ha’Asara.

Residents had fewer than 15 seconds within which to reach a bomb shelter or other safe space before a rocket or mortar shell exploded in their vicinity.

Although it wasn’t clear where the projectile was headed or even whether it would even cross the border into Israeli territory, no Israeli resident can ever afford to gamble with their own lives or those of their family — this is the daily reality that Israelis live with today thanks to Iran, both soldiers and civilians.
