Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed he will meet next Monday with President Donald Trump at the White House.
Netanyahu said in remarks at the opening of the cabinet meeting Tuesday that he will fly to the US next week to meet with multiple Trump Administration officials in addition to the president.
The two leaders are expected to discuss the situation in Gaza, negotiations for the release of Israeli hostages still held captive by Hamas, and ongoing issues with Iran.
The prime minister’s schedule also includes meetings with Vice President Vance; Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Marco Rubio; Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth; the President’s envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and the Commerce Secretary in addition to the president.
“We have several items to close beforehand in order to reach the trade agreement, and several additional matters; meetings with Congressional and Senate leaders and security meetings which I will not detail here,” Netanyahu said.
The meeting comes less than a month after Operation Rising Lion, in which Israel scored a decisive victory over Iran with the assistance of the United States.
“Taking advantage of the success is no less an important part of achieving the success,” Netanyahu said.
In addition to thanking his ministers for their part in securing the victory and rebuilding the damage caused by Iranian missile fire, Netanyahu praised the opposition, which he said “during the great challenge, lined up, almost all of them.”
