“Shabbat Around the World” is an innovative program aimed at encouraging Jewish teens to explore Shabbat together. NCSY directors invited their students from a variety of backgrounds from to join them for a geographically themed Shabbat dinner. Last week South Dade NCSY enjoyed “Western Shabbat,” complete with barbecued chicken, cornbread, and cowboy hats for all who participated. In the coming weeks, teens from around Southern Region will be invited to enjoy other themed Shabbat experiences – Latin, Moroccan, Israeli, and more.
