Young Israel Congregation of Bay Harbor is presenting a three-week Shabbat series for young adult women. The interesting and informational classes offer fresh approaches to Shabbat and provide a perfect setting for participants to meet and socialize.

The series began on December 6 with a program on “How to Make Shabbat Relevant for your Children.” The riveting discussion was led by Mrs. Debbie Hamburg, principal of RASG Hebrew Academy of Miami Beach. Rebbetzin Rena Gruenstein, who has specialized in Jewish early-childhood education for the past 35 years, shared insights. Tzippy Wigoda hosted the event.

Batya Cosiol will host the evening.

The final get-together, on January 3, will be hosted by Tammy Attias. It will be open to the congregation’s women of all ages. The theme will be “How to Prepare a Shabbat Menu with ‘Tam.’ ” Shaike Korlansky, regarded as one of South Florida’s best culinary chefs, will give a demonstration. Rebbetzin Rena Gruenstein, who hosts shul members for delicious Shabbat meals, will contribute to the topic.
