Forever in my memory will be our Shabbat meals together and our late Friday night chats after my young children were tucked in their beds. I will forever cherish the security I felt knowing that Shelly was just downstairs if I needed anything. I will forever be thankful for the shining example she was to me. Her strength of character will always be admired. She made me believe I could do it. She helped me realize that my children did have a chance for “normalcy” even though the rest of the world thought the odds were against them.

Shelly did such a great job with her children; I do not fool myself into thinking that I could have done as well alone. Shelly’s children are educated, accomplished, loving, caring adults now raising beautiful families of their own – all a testament to the loving, dedicated, hardworking woman that she was, not only to her own children but to anyone in her life who needed her.

Hashem recognized that I needed a partner to work with me in raising my family and fortunately helped me find him quickly, but I will never forget the lessons that I learned from Shelly and the amazing “Eishet Chayil, Woman of Valor” she was to so many.
