Let’s play lechem word association.
Part of the blessing for bread is, “…hamotzi lechem min ha’aretz,” roughly meaning “…the results of bread from the land.”
Lechem with the Hebrew letters lamed-chet-mem means bread, but can also be a stand in for abundance, livelihood, and sustenance.
If we rearrange the letters and turn the chet on its side and make it mem-lamed-chaf (chaf has a similar sound to chet) we get melech which means king.
If we again go back to lechem and keep the order of the letters but give one leg of the chet space thereby switching out the chet for a hey, we get lehem, which means “them” in its plural masculine form. This form is also used to describe a crowd of men and women.
Combining “them” with the “king” from before, we can assume we have a king and queen and all forms of royalty here.
Putting it all together, we can reap the highest awards, abundance, and so on, even to the level of royalty, if we work together in unity.
