Maybe the demise of the british empire began with the manifold failures of the british mandate that overpromiced and underdelivered but as a born australian and longtime resident of newzealand am glad of how a once great britian offered sound administration, good governors and an example of courage, decency and fair play and make the point since 1788 both jews and roma gypsy people been strands of the mosaic of australian society, survived and thrived here.
