Weiner Under Pressure to Quit Mayoral Race

Former Congressman Anthony Weiner, a New York Democrat who resigned after the 2011 exposure of lewd images he posted on Twitter, is facing growing pressure to quit the race for mayor of New York City after the revelation that he continued “sexting” on social media well after the original scandal had been uncovered.

The Jewish politician remains determined to continue his political comeback, even though a woman has posted online texts showing that he was still engaging in lewd behavior as recently as August 2012.

“There is no question what I did is wrong. I have apologized to my wife, Huma… I’m pleased she has given me a second chance, and I’m asking for a second chance,” Weiner said in a news conference with his wife, Huma Abedin, according to the New York Jewish Week.

Weiner also indicated that he is counting on Jewish voters to propel him to the mayoral post, joking about the “yidlock at the top of the ticket,” but emphasized he is “not dividing up the electorate like a pie.”

Candidate Rev. Erick Salgado tweeted on Wednesday: “Isn’t it crazy that the leading candidates for high office in NYC are perverts with Chutzpah!”

  1. Dave Lobell says:

Mr.Weiner entry in the Mayoral race is a disgrace and insult to the Jewsih People. This man does not represent Jewsih values nor is he a spokesman for the Jewish People and if we support such a person it is tantamount to blasphemy. I am not sure how a person in his right mind would want a mayor whose own wife cannot trust him to keep his trousers on the minute he walks out of their home. No one is without sin but I would not dare to run for public office and embarass my family and my people had I done what he has done. The man did not properly sheppard his peoples interests but rather he devoted the lions share of his time in office photo shopping his genitals and then splashing them over the internet. If you elect him you will establish New York as the laughing stock of the World! before his texts reached twitter and facebook Mr. Weiner was a walking phallic joke now we can all look forward to having our beloved City called Weinerville!

  2. Welle dais and I agree with you. He attitude is very disgusting.
