You don’t have to be a scientist or a physicist to do this. I recently attended a shiur given by Chaya Rochel Rokeach. She told us about a car ride she gave to a friend who was visiting her preemie baby in the NICU. Chaya Rochel asked what new technology the doctors use to help “grow the baby.” Her friend replied that surprisingly enough, there isn’t much they do other than keep the baby warm, and administrate medicines if the baby gets sick. The one thing they do recommend is to give the baby breast milk because the milk from a woman who delivered prematurely is chock full of essential proteins and hormones to prevent infections and promote growth (see mayoclinic.com/premature baby) even more so than that of a woman who gave birth to a full term baby. That is to say, a mother’s milk is customized for her baby’s needs. And as the baby grows, the milk changes as well, becoming fattier and more filling for the larger baby.
As Chaya Rochel said, thank G-d! There is a G-d! To me, this is miraculous proof an all-knowing, all-seeing Being orchestrating the world we live in. How else could customized life-saving liquid be produced by a mother only during the time period that the child needs it?
It may seem silly, but at the time when I went to the shiur, I was grappling with my own specific issue with Torah Judaism. But like a direct response from Heaven, I received the clarity I needed.
Look around your life, and see the proof for yourself – from the little tiny seeds that grow into fruit-bearing trees, to the fact that the flag of Israel waves proudly while surrounded by millions of hostile enemies; to the ability of a tiny nation to withstand numerous trials and tribulations, and you will have the faith you need to keep you strong throughout whatever challenges come your way, just like Zaidy did.
