Death Camp Exhibition Comes to Beijing

Wednesday, July 17th, 2013

The Nazi German death camp Konzentrationslager Auschwitz Exhibition opened at the Museum of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in Bejing on July 7, 2013, Xinhua reported.

The show displays a series of exhibits from the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Poland and the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum, reflecting the bloody persecution of the Jews carried out by Nazi Germany during World War II at the Auschwitz concentration camp, the largest Nazi camp for prisoners from Poland and other countries. Between 1942 and 1945, at least 1.1 million prisoners were killed at Auschwitz, more than 90 percent of whom were Jewish.

The exhibition also portrays how a total of nearly 30,000 Jewish refugees from all over Europe were helped by the city of Shanghai and its people.

The exhibition will run until September 7.
