We join Klal Yisrael and so many others in mourning the deaths of the seven Sassoon children in Flatbush this past Shabbos. (See news story, page 3.)

Although it was hard to imagine how the surviving family members would be able to go forward in the face of such enormous tragedy, the father’s tearful words about the singular importance of every life, and his heartfelt expressions of simple emunah, gave chizuk to all who heard him.

In their zechus may we all come to appreciate that life is a fleeting gift and resolve to spend every precious moment of it as if it were the last.
