I loved him very much, which is one reason I dedicated the book to him. But the other reason is because I’ve missed him particularly over the last 10-15 years when I’ve been writing intensely about [Israel and anti-Semitism]. I’ve missed his counsel, and I’ve often tried to guess how he would have reacted to what’s going on around us.
