There is also a legal threat against anybody who wants to do that. The conference for justice ministers of Germany – that is to say, the attorney general of each state in Germany – has said that they would prosecute anybody who publishes an “uncommentated” edition under Germany’s hate speech laws. Now, we don’t know if they would succeed in that prosecution, but that’s a strong disincentive to anybody who’s thinking of making a quick buck by publishing a pulp paperback of Mein Kampf.
