Therefore there is no contradiction. Within the letter of the law, when one regrets his actions we will not consider whether he had listened or had not listened to the command of Hashem. When one regrets his averos, Hashem will also remove whatever negative affects were created with his actions.

He then learned in Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn, and became a close talmid of Rav Shmuel Berenbaum, zt”l. Rabbi Fuchs received semicha from the Mirrer Yeshiva as well.
