There is nothing that I find more disappointing than going out to eat, enjoying a nice meal and then being presented with underwhelming dessert choices and Turquoise’s small dessert menu offered a selection of really lovely desserts that were the perfect ending to a supremely enjoyable meal. The streusel topped cheesecake had a fluffy yet creamy texture with just a hint of lemon and the whisky chocolate cake, consisting of a dense dark chocolate cake base topped with a milk chocolate base and topped with dollops of white chocolate whisky cream was spectacular. Turquoise’s homemade bisquit cake, comprised of layers of tea biscuits, slathered with chocolate and vanilla pudding and topped with walnuts and chocolate was wonderfully creamy. Prepared weekly on site by Sammy’s wife Janet, the bisquit cake was addictively scrumptious and we demolished it in entirety in a matter of minutes.

In addition to coffee and tea, Turquoise offers four different types of espresso and hot chocolate, the perfect way to end a delicious meal.

In addition to the items we ordered, Turquoise also offers a full sushi menu, a choice of pastas, an assortment of raw fish specialties and a wine list offering selections of red, white, sparkling and dessert wines.

Aside from the incredible food, what makes Turquoise such a wonderful experience is the warm and amicable atmosphere that are evident from the moment you walk through the door. On the night that we were there, Sammy told us that many of the tables were filled with regulars who keep coming back for skillfully prepared fresh kosher fish and looking around the room we observed people of all nationalities lingering over their meals, clearly enjoying their dinners.

In just over an hour, pre-recorded happy birthday music came on three times, making it obvious that Turquoise is a place people come to celebrate their special occasions. Turquoise, which does on premises catering, opens daily for lunch, offering a prix fixe menu consisting of a salad, a choice of fish with two side dishes, coffee and dessert until 5:30 p.m.

If you love fish, go to Turquoise for a meal you won’t soon forget. If not, go to Turquoise anyway. By the time you walk out, I can pretty much guarantee you will be a fish lover too.
