Open to everyone in Boston-except Zionists.

In Israel, Knesset Member Eitan Cabel of the Zionist Union – a fierce and constant critic of Benjamin Netanyahu recently noted that he “stood behind the Prime Minister over the “extremely worrisome” nuclear framework agreement with Iran.” Cabel wrote on his Facebook page that he “refuse[s] to join the flock of followers applauding the nuclear deal with Iran,” and that the consensus in Israel on the issue of Iran obtaining nuclear weapons was above party or political differences, saying that, “this time, it is definitely not a matter of Right or Left.” Cabel noted “With all the criticism there is about how [Netanyahu] conducted the struggle against the agreement, the struggle itself is just. Against a nuclear Iran, there is no opposition or coalition. We are all Israelis.”

Meanwhile Abe Foxman, the head of the Anti-Defamation League stands against Israel and rejects criticism of the Iran deal, according to today’s Jerusalem Post.

On this – and so many other – fundamentally vital issues to Israel, simply American Jewish organizations stand against Israel.

Similarly, The Jewish Communal Fund (JCF), the largest Jewish donor advised fund in the United States, managing $1.3 billion in charitable assets for 3,100 funds has given millions to the New Israel Fund, an organization which stands against Israel, urging boycotts and constantly haranguing the Israel Defense Forces. We have learned that the JCF is losing considerable funding due to their support for the NIF.

Meanwhile, their CEO, Sue Dickman claims “… the Jewish Communal Fund’s sole mission is to facilitate and administer charitable giving on behalf of our donors. Karen Adler is deeply committed to Israel and to the Jewish community and has worked tirelessly over decades to support both. As is true for all our donors and lay leaders, which charities they support is their personal choice.”

Karen R. Adler, President of JCF’s “deep commitment” to Israel includes serving as a board member of the extremist organization, the Israel Policy Forum, which criticized AIPAC. Adler signed an open letter to Bill De Blasio which said, “the needs and concerns of many of your constituents–U.S. Jews like us among them–are not aligned with those of AIPAC, and that no, your job is not to do AIPAC’s bidding when they call you to do so. AIPAC speaks for Israel’s hard-line government and its right-wing supporters, and for them alone; it does not speak for us.”

This organization regularly stands against Israel – and the JCF funds millions to harm Israel. Hence, donors to JCF who support Israel should stop funding the organization, until JCF realizes funding anti-Israel work is not “supporting Israel.”

Tellingly, the JCF is yet to address the issue which I raised on these very pages six weeks ago: “In their policies handbook, The Jewish Communal Fund notes they are “committed to supporting causes that promote the welfare and security of the Jewish community here and abroad. Consequently, as part of the grant review process, the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Communal Fund retains the right to deny any grant request where the purposes and activities of the recommended charitable organization are deemed to be adverse to the interests of the Jewish community.”

Lenin called people who work against their people’s own best interests in support of their enemies “useful idiots” – and surely those Jews who stand against Israel qualify.
