One of America’s largest Quaker groups recently announced that it would be sponsoring a mini-summer camp about the ways in which Israel can be boycotted. The American Friends Service Committee “We Divest Campaign Student Leadership Summer Training Institute” plans on having a five day intensive BDS program for US college students already running or planning anti-Israel campaigns.
The summer session, also sponsored by Jewish Voice for Peace, will also include “anti-oppression analysis workshops, non-violent direct action planning and strategy sessions with BDS movement leaders.” A program official added that these sessions will focus on “calling attention to what is happening in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.” The program will run from July 28 to August 1, and will be held at a campsite in upstate New York.
