A Lod district court has decided that former Israeli president, Moshe Katzav, will stay in prison for Pesach, according to a report in YNet.
Katzav, who is serving a 7 year term for rape, put in a request for a Passover furlough.
Israeli prisoners can receive regular furloughs from prison if they are on good behavior.
The prison warden turned down Katzav’s request for a Passover furlough, as his last furlough was less than 60 days before Passover, and the prison system doesn’t give more than one furlough in any 60 day period.Jewish Press News Briefs
