Here is yet another video that contradicts Islam on its basis while using Islamic concepts. When people hear or read statements like “Killing Jews is a form of worship that draws us closer to Allah,” that makes everyone concerned with important existential questions on their mind ask: Will there ever be peace in the Middle East? Will Muslims ever accept Jews right to live in the Holy Land? What’s more will they accept the right of the Jews to live freely, in tranquility anywhere in the world?
When people make things up out of whole cloth, we could say that these are false teachings of some people in error. However this hate propaganda is systematically introduced into education, media and politics, and done in a wide scale, and makes me feel obliged to point what real Islam is and not.
First of all, Jews are the descendants of the prophets; the Prophets Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David, Solomon (peace be upon them all) who are also prophets for Muslims as well. Coming from this particular line of descent, hatred purely based on this attribute is satanic. And those who have the desire to annihilate the line of the Prophets have an evil intention; this kind of outlook against Jews is radically false and can never be accepted in any way, shape or form. No true Muslim would ever permit the annihilation of the descendants of the prophets.
There is a hadith (saying of Prophet Mohammed) that some radicals interpret in an unacceptable way. “Judgment Day will come only when the Muslims fight the Jews.” Some interpret this as an excuse or a call to make war against the Jews. However, this can never give legitimacy to war with Jews. In any event, Muslims and Jews have already made war with each other several times in Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Jordan etc. This hadith has already been realized. This is not a saying that sets forth that Jews are enemies of Muslims and they should start a war and fight against Jews, but describes a future event.
Similarly, in the ‘sayings of Prophet Mohammed,’ many events regarding the End Times have been explained in great detail and they have all come true. For instance, in one of them he foretells that blood will be shed in the Kaaba (and this has happened in the recent past, in 1979 to be specific) but that has never been interpreted as a call to shed blood in the Kaaba. Or Mohammed informs that there will be war between Iran and Iraq, and this has never been interpreted that Muslims should fight each other. So these interpretations to call for war against the Jews have no theological or doctrinal basis and this is an apparent misuse of Islam.
And another false interpretation is regarding the continuation of this hadith -which is also mentioned in the Hamas Charter-;
“… and kill them, until the Jew hides behind the tree and the stone, and the tree and the stone say: ‘Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him’ – except for the Gharqad tree.'” First of all, we make our comments about events based on the Qur’an. That is to say we cannot deduce any judgments based on a single verse of the Qur’an or a single hadith. In the Qur’an different verses are complementary, and they complete one another.
There are many false hadiths that have infiltrated into authentic hadith collections over the centuries. One can understand these with conscience and reason and no hadith can conflict with the Qur’an. If it does, it is not an authentic hadith. It is not acceptable to annul a verse of the Quarn on the basis of fabricated hadiths and of historical information. And even for true hadiths with seem offensive, there is a rational interpretation that is compliant to the spirit of the Qur’an.
For instance, if a Muslim sees a Jewish child hiding behind a stone and a voice comes from that stone, one can safely presume that he is suffering from an auditory hallucination. If somebody turns up one day and claims that stones and trees spoke to him, and thus he went off and killed Jews, we should regard him as a madman and a murderer. His action would be considered haram (unlawful), and definitely unacceptable.Sinem Tezyapar
