Shortly after the horror of the 9-11 attacks, the United States attacked Afghanistan with the might befitting a superpower. There were no Jews in America then who proudly called themselves “leftist” on the subject.
If you heard a Hollywood-drenched extremist liberal protesting America’s bombing of Afghanistan, he or she was immediately drowned out as a maniac, a spy or a traitor. So why is it that when Israel suffers the loss of innocent lives on a daily basis, Jews all over the world suddenly become divided between “left” and “right”? What is the sickness that these leftist Jews suffer from? What kind of mental paralysis or perversion creates such warped behavior?
The same qualities that have made the Jews historically the greatest humanitarians have ironically made the Jews also the world’s easiest victims. They feel so uncomfortable about the thought of hurting anybody that even when a suicide bomber is hurt or killed while blowing up dozens of Jews, there are enough Jewish “leftists” out there convinced that it is our own fault.
If only we were compassionate enough, these Jewish leftists seem to think, we would find a way to solve the problem without making a murderer suffer just because his only crime is killing Jewish people. This historically profound Jewish “guilt trip” has turned the most intellectual Jews into abject idiots. If the violence committed against Israelis was inflicted on any other people, is it conceivable that these same leftist Jews would be justifying it?
Hypothetically, if Canada sent suicide bombers into America to wantonly kill people, would the brains of Jewish university professors calcify enough to justify it? We doubt it. Somehow it’s only when Jews are involved that a vacuum suddenly forms in the brains of Jewish “intellectuals” — a vacuum in which no form of reason can exist.
They’ll create any fantasy to blame Israel. “It’s our own fault, you can’t occupy another country for so long without suffering the consequences” is the most sickening of the leftist perversions of reality. That statement alone proves that the same Jews who read enough to hold PhDs in ancient history are somehow incapable of reading a newspaper with any understanding.
The problem is not that Jewish leftists don’t know the truth, it’s that they don’t want to hear or see the truth. Because if they didn’t suffer from an uncontrollable need to blame the Jews they would find it impossible to ignore what every thinking, objective person knows: Ehud Barak offered the Palestinians 90-plus percent of the land they covet — but the satisfaction of having their own state meant nothing to the Palestinians compared to the thrill of killing our people.
This Jewish guilt, which once personified the Galut Jew, has now even paralyzed the minds of Israelis. How, otherwise, could it have taken so long for successive governments of Israel to see through Arafat’s transparent charade? Why, otherwise, would Israelis have continued for years to view him as a “partner in peace,” all the evidence to the contrary notwithstanding?
How many times did Israeli prime ministers travel the world for peace conferences with Arafat while he was masterminding the murder of our own people in Israel? Why is it that our American president, George W. Bush, has stopped talking to Arafat while Israeli politicians are still wondering and wavering and floundering about Arafat’s usefulness to the “peace process”?
Why did Arik Sharon suffer rejection from Israelis for so many years while being vilified as a “hard-liner” or even a “warmonger”? And why are there so many Israelis who even now respect and echo the charge of anti-Semitic Europeans that Sharon is undermining the “peace process” by “viciously going too far”?
The answer to all of the above is that the real warmongers are the so-called “peaceniks.”
The best way to needlessly lose Jewish lives is to be so blinded by Jewish guilt that you can’t see a murderer for what he is. If he’s come to kill, he doesn’t deserve conversation, he deserves elimination.
