It is said that a tzaddik senses when he is nearing the end of his life. According to the Ohr Ha’Chaim, 40 days before his death, a tzaddik feels his shadow depart and understands that his life is drawing to a close.

Was this perhaps the explanation for all the ‘inexplicable’ things that Uri did in the days leading up to his heart attack? Maybe he didn’t consciously know that he was going to leave this world so soon, but this simple man, who did so much quiet chesed during his life, merited leaving it with no debts, just his good name.
