Gaza terrorists launched three rockets at southern Israel on Monday but failed to hit their target.
One of the rockets, aimed at Kissufim, was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force; two others didn’t make it out of Gaza, landing instead within the enclave.
No Red Alert sirens were activated since the attack threatened no one.
Kissufim is located close to the border with southern Gaza, not far from Khan Younis, a central terrorist stronghold in the enclave.
The IDF issued a sweeping evacuation order for the city’s population on Monday, warning the area had become a “dangerous combat zone” because terrorist organizations were continuing to launch rockets from the area.
“The IDF is launching an unprecedented attack to destroy the capabilities of terrorist organizations … You have been warned several times. Evacuate immediately,” IDF Arabic Spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote.
The Khan Younis Battalion of the Hamas terrorist organization is the group’s sole remaining battalion, IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir told troops and officers during a visit to the area this weekend.
“This is a prolonged, multi-arena war. You dismantled the Rafah Brigade—and now is the time to dismantle the Khan Younis Brigade,” Zamir said.
