Are you a fan of nail art? I find that some people are all for it while others find it to be a little too over-the-top and daring. The truth is that there are so many ways to wear nail art and it can range from subtle and mature (yes, I’m serious!) to bold, loud and adventurous. Anyone can rock nail art and in this month’s column I’m going to share how anyone can wear it.

Let’s start with my current favorite design: Stars.

If you’re new to nail art, try a nude or peach polish base with a couple of gold stars on one or two nails. It’s subtle, but adds enough of a statement to make things a bit more fun and interesting.

If you’re not afraid to go a bit bolder, try an ombré base in any color with white stars on it or a white base with bright metallic stars for a fun pop.

And if you’re ready to go all out, try a rainbow watercolor base with metallic stars on top or a solid base with rainbow stars over top!

Next up: Vertical lines.

For those of you wanting to dip your toes into the nail art world, this is an easy way to start. Try a solid base in any color with a thin white or metallic line down the middle. This is the ultimate way to achieve grown up nail art.

If you want to step it up a bit, try a couple of lines in stripping tape in a variety of colors. It’s still mature and elegant, but the metallic tape makes the nail art stand out even more.

And if you’re comfortable with bold, go for a rainbow of watercolor stripes going ¾ the way down your nails. You won’t be able to stop staring at your nails!

Ombré for everyone:

French manicures with the harsh white lines have been a bit passé for the last decade. Try a more modern version of the French manicure with a French ombré instead. A nude or soft pink to white gradient will give you a beautiful and classic look.

Try a pastel ombré manicure if you’re comfortable with more color on your nails. A nude to a pop of color like baby blue or purple works well too.

And if you want to take an ombré manicure up a notch, try a bold rainbow gradient!
