While dancing in the circle, I gaze at the stones of the Kotel, and it seems to me that this is no longer the Wall of Tears, or the Wailing Wall, but rather the Wall of Joy and Song. As it says in Psalms:
“Praise His name through dancing
With drum and harp sing to Him.”
The Rosh Chodesh celebration of ancient days is slowly returning to Jerusalem. This is the city about which King David wrote:
“The rebuilt Jerusalem
Like a city that is compacted together.”
And as Chazal comment: Jerusalem is a city that makes all of Israel friends, that unites all of the Jewish people as one family. And this is the same city that one day will be the house of prayer for all nations. This is what we celebrate on Rosh Chodesh and pray for every single day.
