Syria’s president Bashar Assad won 88.7% of the vote for president, or so claims Syrian Parliament speaker Mohammad al-Laham.

This is Assad’s third term as president after succeeding his father, Hafez Al-Assad.

3 Syrians were killed in celebratory gunfire, and dozens more were wounded.
