The two reservist pilots who died in the crash of their Cobra helicopter overnight are Maj. Erez Flexer, 31 of Haifa and Lt. Col. Noam Ron, 49, of Oranit, located on the western edge of Samaria.
The Air Force is investigating the cause of the crash, which for the time being is assumed to have been caused by a technical failure.
Flexer and Ron were returning to the Palmachim Air Force Base in central Israel and were in radio contact six minutes before they were scheduled to land.
They did not relay that there were any malfunctions.
