UPDATED: Palestinians Attack and Steal Soldier’s Weapon in Botched Kidnapping Attempt

al-ram_map

Overnight, Palestinians attacked a soldier at the A-Ram (Al-Ram) checkpoint, north of Jerusalem, and stole his weapon.

The initial report said that 2 Arabs approached the checkpoint and attacked the soldier with pepper spray. They tried to kidnap him, but when that failed they stole his rifle.

According to the army, the Palestinians actually breached the fence of the army base, using the storm and darkness as cover, and attacked the soldier, hitting him on the head with a weapon and pepper spraying him. They then stole his weapon.

The soldier was treated on site for light injuries.

The IDF is searching the area for the terrorists.
