Jews visiting the grounds of the Temple Mount

Police closed the Temple Mount to Muslims on Tuesday, Shavuot eve, after receiving intelligence reports of planned Arab riots against Jewish visitors to the holy site, according to an Arutz-7 report.

A source confirmed the story to the JewishPress.com and added that police simply learned their lesson from previous Jewish holidays when the Arabs used that as an excuse to riot.

This is the first time Israel has ever almost completely closed the Temple Mount to Muslims. Only some Waqf officials, and elderly were allowed to stay on the Jewish holy site.

And despite the constant threats from the police and the left that the Arabs would riot and war could break out if Israel were to do that – nothing happened.

In an unusual move, the police instead opened the Temple Mount to 400 Jewish visitors, and did not cause the religious Jewish visitors any delays or problems like they normally do.

One regular at the Kotel told JewishPress.com that he saw an unusually large contingent of Jews go up to the mountain.

There have been proposals to create a time-sharing arrangement on the Temple Mount, so Jews can pray there without being harassed by Hamas inciters. If today works out smoothly, perhaps this will become a more permanent arrangement.

The Women in Green have already put in an official request for Jewish prayer time on the Temple Mount on Tisha B’Av, the anniversary of he destruction of the Temple. They are still waiting for a reply.

  1. The Mosque there is a “victory mosque’ to rub in military victory. They are notorious for this sort of desecration. Time to re-assert the territory. Blow the mosque up and replace it with the Temple that belongs there. The mosque was put there as an insult. Time to return the favour.

  2. THINGS ISRAEL NEEDS TO DO NOW WITH EVERYTHING THAT HAS OCCURRED:
    1) ASSERT SOVEREIGNTY OVER THE ENTIRE TEMPLE MOUNT.
    2) ANNEX ALL OF JUDEA AND SAMARIA.
    3) TURN OFF THE ELECTRICITY TO ALLTHE MUSLIM AREAS UNTIL THEY PAY THEIR BILL.
    4) WITHHOLD ALL THE TAXES THAT WE COLLECT IN ISRAEL FOR THE MUSLIMS.
    5) FOR MUSLIMS CITIZENS OF ISRAEL AND THOSE WHO WANT TO BE CITIZENS OF ISRAEL, THEY NEED TO SIGN AN OATH OF LOYALTY TO ISRAEL THAT THEY ARE HELD TO…….IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO SIGN NOR ABIDE BY ANY SUCH DOCUMENT, THEY MUST LEAVE.
    6) BLACKTOP GAZA AND CLEAR OUT THE SCUM.
    7) RESIGN FROM ALL ASPECTS OF THE UN…..AS WELL AS KICK THE UN OUT OF OUR COUNTRY.
    8) ADVISE ANY OF OUR NEIGHBORS THAT SURROUND US, THAT ANY VIOLATION OF OUR BORDERS, WILL CAUSE A COMPLETE ANNIHILATION OF THEIR COUNTRY.

  3. Bobbie, it could be that they do no want to create war but rather are looking at a different remedy that would not trigger violence and bloodshed. We know that ADONAI is working behind these scenes. We need to speak with the LORD more often than not.

  4. Angela, I have had similar confrontations with Muslims in other places and remain silent though on one occasion I spoke up and said we need to find a common ground between Muslims, Jews and Christians. And he asked me a question about Abraham and I answered him and he said nothing more for he knew that I had the correct answer. We went our separate way in peace. Our best foot forward is to respond in civility and I learned that the hard way a few times. The way provided in the Jewish Code of Ethics works, yes it does and I will use it from now on.

  5. Josh Bitto , they have the same father being Abraham, and believe in Isaac, Moses and Jacob. They claim through history that has been taught to them that Ismael is a family member and Ishmael was the first son of Abraham via Hagar. You could check online for more details if you feel you need to. Good question Josh, very good indeed.

  6. Alice, you are right, it is good news and there is hope that more will take place. All is starting to go through a committee of approach and time will tell if that leads to fruition. We are known by the fruits of our works and our civility.

  7. Josh, you might contact via the Internet The Temple Mount Institute who have already prepared a considerable amount of items to be placed in the future Third Temple. You can find them online and ask what stage they are at.

  8. A nice idea Brian but we are not allowed to take the law into our own hands let alone make a law that has not been sanctioned. We are really trying to create a mutual agreement on some aspects we are sharing with others. Unfortunately due to the errors or politicians the Temple Mount got ceded over to the Muslims in one of the wars. Sad, but true. Now it would be to negotiate to share the common ground. Everyone has had quite enough of war and bloodshed and are realizing it really does more harm than good.

  9. Martin Kramer:
Gaza is a place with no Israeli settlements, from which Israel has totally withdrawn to the 1967 lines, and which nonetheless has become a Hamas terror state. That’s what happens in conditions of Gazafication. So when people say that in a two-state solution, Palestinians would have a "right of return" to the West Bank and not Israel, I do not find that particularly reassuring either. Any influx of Palestinians across the Jordan poses a problem for Israel, and it is naive to dismiss it. I would like to hear how, in a two-state scenario, Gazafication of the West Bank can be prevented. I haven't heard it yet.

    Neither have I.

Read The Haj by Leon Uris. And ask these questions:

What year did the nation of Palestine come into existance?
What were its national borders and what year did it cease to exist?
What currency did the nation of Palestine use and why is there no history of it?
Name one leader to the “nation of Palestine” prior to Yasser Arafat.

  10. What the hell is with this damn web page that it keeps hopping to the top of the page? No offense but I usually find these problems with websites that tend to be ad whores. It's bouncing up and down AS I TYPE!!!!

  11. I have a solution for the two state problem. The people in Gaza and the west bank should read their Qr'an which says that Israel is for the Jews then they need to go home to where ever they came from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Saudi or where ever they come from then they can be in their own state. Palestine does not exist in the middle east it's in Texas.

  12. Hello Larry: I thought it was me, or my computer! Now I know it's the web page. And yes, even before I can get to reading the essay, ads pop up in the centre of the screen.
Thanks for letting me know it isn't my computer. If this continues, the only solution for me is to end subscription.

  13. Josh Bitto : They just do as their Imams tell them; think as their Imams tell them. Proof of Israel being the Jewish homeland is not jut in the Old & New Testaments; it is in the Qur'an too. Sadly, Muhammad got into the habit of killing as many Jews as he could; today's bunch believe that Muhammad is the "perfect model for human behaviour"; so they copy everything he did – without a single thought or idea in their heads apart from "kill Jews" as their Imams and Muhammad tell them they should. Oh, and Muhammad was a VERY practise deceiver & liar. So it is easy to see where the Arabs/Muslims are coming from.

  14. Mark Weis There's plenty of bullying on each side. Who am I? I'm a centrist, assimilated, secular Jew who believes that a 2-state solution, with Jerusalem totally in Israel but with open access to the holy sites, is the only practical one.

  15. Eleanor Hebert Wyatt Uh. Eleanor, the book of Arab military victories against the Israelis is a very short one. In fact, there's nothing in it at all except black pages. And if they face Mecca, well, that's their religion. Where are they supposed to face? Scranton, Pa.?

  16. I came back to respond to your response. I've only been here a minute and already it's driving me nuts. I keep looking at a post-it I taped to my desk "Don't Be Angry" Like Billy Jack used to say; "I try, I really try".

  17. David Tripp If you have ever watch any of Perry Stone's sermons he goes to Israel every year. In one of them he says that some people get so caught off guard on how holy the place is and how it affects them personally. He said his first time going he cried for days on just being there. Wish I could go O.O maybe one day. :/

  18. It would be better if all religions could pray in peace. Unfortunately, there are misguided individuals, and religious leaders who lead them into error, in every religion. Hashem is actually beyond all religion; his true worshipers come from every religion, and every part of the world, but are not a part of the religion they were raised in. His true worshipers accept Him into their hearts and minds. That is the only test. That is the one true religion, which is the religion of Abraham, Jacob, and the rest. All the rest that religions teach is just details, the milk for those children who cannot yet understand Hashem's Way.
