IDF removes the bodies of assassinated Hamas chief Mohammed Sinwar and Rafah Brigade commander Mohammad Sabaneh from terror tunnel command complex beneath European Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza.

The IDF has confirmed the identification and removal of the body of assassinated Hamas chief Mohammed Sinwar from a subterranean tunnel complex in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis.

Sinwar’s body was found in an underground Hamas command and control center beneath the European Hospital, as was the body of Hamas Rafah Brigade commander Mohammad Sabaneh.

The terrorist leaders were killed in a joint IDF-ISA (Shin Bet) operation on May 13, 2025, while hiding in the tunnel complex.

During IDF searches of the underground complex, Israeli forces also found several items belonging to Sinwar and Sabaneh.

Various documents and additional intelligence findings were transferred to security personnel for further investigation.

“Additional bodies of terrorists were located during the operation,” the IDF said. “Their identities are currently under examination.”
