The Jewish Press joins Klal Yisrael in mourning the passing of Rabbi Yaakov Pollak, rav of the famed Shomrei Emunah shul in Boro Park from 1973 to 2008. Highly regarded as the spiritual leader of his congregants, his writings on Jewish topics educated thousands. Additionally, his significant work on behalf of agunot, accomplished with a signature reserve and understatement, made an important difference in the lives of many hapless victims.
