You remember the chapter and verse on that. First there was Ronald Reagan (I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me), then the Reagan Democrats, then the Catholics and the Religious Right. And now the Tea Party.
Every time this happens the Republican Party gets completely flummoxed by the influx. Who are these people? Where did they come from?
No wonder. Republicans are clueless because they don’t troll the local bars flashing the national credit card around. Republicans are dull dogs that don’t go in for political “game” or the activist hook-up. After all, we have to go to work in the morning.
As for the white working class, there’s a certain charm in a woman of a certain age; she tends to have real life experience. And everyone is welcome in the Republican Party, even discarded liberal lovers. Especially discarded liberal lovers.
Come on in, white working class: I dare you, and I won’t mention ObamaCare if you don’t.
