After Joseph was sold into slavery, why didn’t he ever get in touch with his father? In this video, Rabbi Fohrman will help us attempt to look at the story through Joseph’s eyes, and explore the possibility that Joseph assumed his father was in on the plot. This new perspective helps us understand Joseph, and also his unique relationship with Pharaoh, who becomes the father figure in Joseph’s life.

It takes courage to become a "man" of truth…
it took years I believe before Joseph became an oversee'er in Egypt, He was imprisoned remember, beside I believe Jacob thought Joseph was killed as this was told to Jacob by His brethren. Joseph would have had to sent some sort of news with the same people who picked him out of the pit, and he probably would have to pay those people to send news, and they may never deliver the message. mho
another thought struck me, maybe the Lord spared Jacob knowing that his brethren had sold him, so that when Jacob did see Joseph again, He was overjoyed and the traiterous acts of the brethren might not affected him as badly as knowing the others had lied to him?
sorry another thought, but i dont think Pharaoh became a father figure to Joseph, but rather Pharaoh had great regards for Joseph because he could interpret dreams, again the hand of the Lord at work.
If Joseph assummed his father was in plot, why his father give Joseph many gift and differentiating with his brother?
Can u explain clearly?
