Thousands of Gazans riot at the border with Israel, throwing live grenades and explosives at IDF soldiers and into Israeli territory

On this final Friday in the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, 7,000 citizens of Gaza chose to spend their time in fields at five flash points next to the security fence along the border with southern Israel.

As usual, they were busy burning tires, throwing stones and explosive devices at the IDF soldiers who were guarding Israel’s border and the civilian communities located nearby.

Those Hamas-led Gazans who approached the border to attempt infiltration or to try and damage the fence were stopped by Israeli soldiers with standard riot control measures. Several were injured as a result, but this week, at least, no one chose to die.
